Youth Guidance’s Parent & Family Engagement team recently held its Annual Parent Leadership Conference in Oakbrook, Illinois, marking 24 years of inspiring mothers, fathers, caregivers, and educators to strengthen the home-school connection. Themed “Rallying the Village: Home, School and Community”, the conference hosted nearly 200 guests and included dynamic workshops such as Diverse Families and the American Experience, Mother/Daughter in the Mirror, $how Me My Money (Financial Literacy), Creating Unity in the Community, and Parenting with Power and Purpose. Youth Guidance staff members from across the agency facilitated workshops, lending their time and expertise to empower parents. A special banquet and awards ceremony was also held to honor parents, dedicated team members and special guests.
Della Ezell, Parent & Family Engagement Program Manager and conference visionary stated: “I want everyone to be encouraged, keep hope alive and become positive change agents at home, at school and in the community. The rewards of seeing our children truly engaged in meaningful learning experiences and watching them become productive citizens is what matters most.” Our thanks to all donors and presenters, as well as to our friends at GearUp, for supporting this enlightening parent conference!
