Bright Futures Gala 2019

Celebrating 95 Years

Through last year’s Gala, we raised over $1,000,000 – providing significant funds to better the lives of children from Chicago’s most at-risk communities. We would very much appreciate your consideration of supporting the Youth Guidance Gala.

Support of the Gala helps us continue to deliver programs like Becoming a Man (BAM), which a University of Chicago study showed reduces violent crime arrests by 50% and increases on-time high school graduation rates by nearly 20% for students in BAM compared to a control group. Youth Guidance’s work also includes the Working on Womanhood (WOW) program, which helps to reduce depression and anxiety symptoms for young women struggling with on average more than five traumatic events in their young lives.

Youth Guidance serves more than 8,000 students in Chicago’s schools. More than 95% of our students are African-American and Hispanic/Latino.  Most reside in low income communities.

Here are some of their stories.

What is the Bright Futures Gala?

Bright Futures Gala is Youth Guidance’s premier annual event to raise the necessary funds for the organization to support programs such as Becoming A Man (BAM) and Working on Womanhood (WOW), which served more than 11,000 youth directly this school year.

Why Sponsor?

  • Receive great exposure to over 500 corporate and philanthropic leaders across Chicago.
  • Contribute towards one of Chicago’s leading providers of best-practice, evidence-based programming that works directly with children to help them make positive choices and remain on the right path towards life success.

Why Support?

  • Youth Guidance sees a bright and successful future for every elementary and high school student in Chicago’s most under resourced communities.
  • The struggles these young people face outside of the classroom directly impacts their ability to focus and learn in school. These challenges become harder when a student doesn’t have the guidance of adults who can lead them on a path to success. Youth Guidance meets kids where they are and gives them access to the support and tools they need to thrive. With your generous support, our programs not only impact the individual youth, but help make their schools and communities safer and more successful.
