The 22nd Annual Parent Leadership Conference was a great success! Held in Oakbrook, Illinois on January 23rd and 24th, the event brought together more than 150 mothers, fathers, educators, and experts for networking and discussions about parenting best-practices.
This year’s theme, Parenting with Knowledge, Action and Transformation, featured engaging workshops in both English and Spanish. Della Ezell, YG Parent and Family Engagement Program Manager and conference visionary noted: “We carefully picked this year’s topics by focusing on what parents need most…knowledge of Common Core standards, support for fathers, child motivation tips, and more.”
School administrator J. Gloria Scott from Manley High summed up the experience well: “This conference always inspires me to go back home and work on my family, but mostly it helps me better work with, understand and truly appreciate each student and parent’s individual circumstances.” Another parent commented, “This was the best conference ever! Leadership is everything.”
A special thanks to all YG team members, donors, presenters, supporters and GearUp for helping us produce yet another successful conference. Visit our Facebook page for more photos!
